As the director claimed that the movie “Aegan” is not a remake of Farah Khan’s “Main Hoon Na” but inspired from the Hollywood flick “Back to School” maybe the director have not watch the Hollywood flick wholly. The movie also gets you the feel of a decade old Malayalam flick “Olympian Anthony Adam”.
The first half of the movie looks smooth solid rocking but the second half of the movie goes shaky and the climax is a big let down. If you go and watch this movie logically there is nothing in the movie story but it’s Diwali time go and enjoy with Aegan it’s a fun unlimited movie up to a limit (Interval).
The story is Shiva (Ajith) a tough notorious bad temper police officer whose introduction scene was placed in Hongkong killing mafia chief single handled. His father Commissioner Karthik (Nassar) says that “He is a One Man Army who trusts only on his Gun”. The turnaround of the story starts that the tough cop is going to do a different mission altogether as he has to find out the International criminal John Chinnapa (Suman) who is trying to kill his former supporter Ram Prasad (Devan) a approver to police. The tale continues
as Ram is hiding in Ooty in which his daughter Priya(Piaa) studying in a co-ed college. Shiva’s (Ajith) new assignment is to protect the girl Priya and his father whereabouts regarding the baddies. Shiva (Ajith) introduced in college with a funny principal (Jayaram) and a peon (Sathyan) with bunches of students including Narain(Navdeep) Priya’s lover who later known to Ajith that he is a brother. The enjoyable scene of the film is that when Ajith meets Nayan for the first time the song “Unnai Paartha Pinpu Naan (Kathal Mannan)” makes you really scream and enjoying.
The characters like Jayaram, Cochin Haneefa and Sriman’s comedy scenes were outrageous. The plus of the movie is Yuvan’s background and music with good visualization. The Debutant Cameraman Arjunjena is promising. Somehow Ajith manages to dance few moments in Freedom song and rocks.
Nayanthara role as Mallika is chic, her make up and curves with chiffon sarees and halter-neck blouses are eye-catching. Piaa is promising as Suman’s role with a wig he is false represented as a baddie. Ultimate Star Ajith looks stunning and rocking while he appears in screen as Cop as well as student.
At last when you watch the movie it clearly shows that the movie is all about amateurship attempt made by a Debutant Director Raju Sundaram which affects the climax scene with normal finish. Most of the actors were wasted by the debutant director. The film however manages a viewer to entertain in reasonable circumstances. If you are really a Ajith fan watch it for a Once!!!
