The first test between India and Pakistan of the Indian Oil Cup steeped onto the field today morning. The Pakistan Shoib Malik, won the toss, and elected to bat. The Pakistan batsmen had a very bad start in the morning at the Delhi. The initial 5 wickets fell as a series of crackers. Salman Butt, Yasir Hameed, Younis, Yousuf and Shoib Malik, were out cheaply, with, 1, 29, 7,27, 0 respectively. The World’s number one Test Batsman Mohd. Yousuf was out by Saurav Ganguly, LBW.
Then Misbah ul-Haq and Akmal took the center stage. They had a good partnership running. Then Kumble and Harbhajan struck three quick wickets. But Misbah and Mohd. Sami were still batting on till the end of the day, testing the patience of the Indians. Though the Pakistans had a very poor start, they would be happy enough to end up the day, on a good note. Misbah was not out at the score of 71 from 204 balls and Sami 20 from 77 balls.
The pick of the bowler was the captain Anil Kumble with 3 wickets, followed by Zaheer with 2 wickets. Bhaji, Munaf and Saurav had 1 wickets each. The Pakistans ended up the day with 210 for 8 wickets.
