Dasavatharam is meant for controversies as earlier the film faces many problems but after the trailer released and telecasted on Kalaignar TV most of the viewers want to see the movie on screen. In this situation Madras High Court ordered a notice to Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take away the scenes which offends the sentiments of Hindus in the film Dasavatharam while issuing the Censorship for the film.
The petition has been submitted by the International Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samrakshanaa Society which was represented by its President Govinda Ramanuja Dasa and the petition subjects that the Dasavatharam title itself trick to condemn Hinduism. The offensive scene of the movie is the clash between Vaishnavites and Saivates and this resembles the theme of the story. The petitioner also submitted that his complaint was restricted for the role played by the actor as Sri Ramanujar and this scene connected with violence.
