The sensational batting performance by the lower order batsemen Misbah-Ul-Haq and Mohd. Sami, came to an end within one hour of play resuming today morning at Delhi. Misbah-Ul-Haq (82) was run out by Karthik, when he threw a sensational one at the stumps at the bowling end. Then Kanerai was bowled out by Anil Kumble, claiming his 4th wicket of the match. All his 4 wickets were clean bowled.

Wickets began tumble since then. Sachin was run out for 1. Ganguly and Dravid were clean bowled by the debutant Tanvir. VVS Lakshman and Dhoni had a good bat and steadied India to a acceptable score. Dhoni was out stumped by Kaneria for 57. Kumble and Lakshman were on the crease at the end of the day, with Lakshman on 57 and kumble 7. Shoib and Tanvir had 2 wickets each and Kaneria had one wicket.
