One of the leading Malayalam movie director and a prolific screenwriter A K Lohithadas died at Ernakulam Kerala Lissy Hospital at 11 am on Sunday. According to close sources, the movie director Lohitadas was suffered from Cardiac Arrest (heart attack) which results unexpected demise.
Director Lohitadas was there in Kochi to attend AMMA’s General Body Meeting but later due to illness he was admitted to hospital. Director Lohitadas wife and children were in the hospital at the time of death. Soon after hearing the news AMMA meeting was cancelled and all the artists rushed to the hospital.
In early days as a script writer Lohitadas knows the taste of Malayalam audience and gave some memorable hits with combination of Sibimalayil like Thaniavarthanam, Amaram, Kireedam, Dasaratham, His Highness Abdulla, Kamaladalam.
Some of the memorable films as a director were Bhoothakannadi, Kasturimaan, Aarayannangalude Veedu, Nivediyam. With his screen writing and direction he earned lots of national and other awards. Our tkada offers its deepest condolence to the bereaved family members. May his soul rest in peace!!!
