An Indian Muslim Body in Pakistan said that the imposition of Emergency move by Pervez Musharraf had the reason of saving himself from being ousted from power by the country’s Supreme Court.
The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) also declared that this move was Musharraf’s confession of failure on all the fronts, that includes terrorism and economical stagnation.
AIMMM president Syed Shahabuddin said in a statement, that the object and the pirpose behind the army rule seems to be purely personal, to save Musharraf from the Supreme Court, that declared that his October six election in uniform as null and void.
The AIMMM also felt that by declaring himself as the self appointed saviour of Pakistan, Musharraf has only repeated the classical excuse and traditional refrain of all those who have seized power illegally down the ages, he added.
