Its the latest news about Pakistan after the state of emergency announced by the President of Pakistan Parvez Musharraf. Many Pakistani Lawyers were beaten up and arrested for their protest against Musharraf’s announcement for emergency in Pak. The officials under U.S. pressure said that an election would be held in early 2008.
There has been no real action on their part so far, and the struggle has been left to the lawyers, said the oppisition party Benazir Bhutto. General Musharraf who is been considered as an ally in the battle against al Qaeda and the Taliban by the US Prseident George W Bush urged Musharraf to lift up the emergency he had posed and to hold the elections and quite as army chief.
Our sources found that a number of lawyers who were chanting “Go Musharraf Go” were beaten up badly and carried into the trucks in the central city of Multan.
