Jaganmohini 2009 is a remake of the same titled old flick of veteran Vittalacharya. These days most of the old movies are remade in Tamil as with latest technical advancement the movie will be a treat for the eyes in todays trend. Let us see how Jaganmohini was remade at present scenario.
The story is Namitha was murdered for falling in love with a wealthy prince but after her death she search in love with the Prince. In the meantime Prince finds an apt bride Nila with in the family circle. An evil magician Kota Srinivasa Rao is also there to capture Raja for his human sacrifice that will grant him enormous powers. The movie also featuring a wicked prince from a nearby state Riyas Khan his father Bala Singh and Vadivelu(brother of Namitha). The remaining part of movie is will Ghost Namitha get his love back or not???
The script has more availability to attract all the audiences but with the chopped screenplay and the lacked visual effects the movie looks normal. There are certain areas the movies visual effects come good but as far as these types of movie the visual effects plays a vital role in the entire movie but missing.
Hot actress Namitha who often come on screen for songs is now acted in a full movie. Namitha fans can enjoy seeing her in the entire movie and she does her part well. The climax of the movie only suited for the early seventies even if your kid may think doubtful is this possible???
Director N. K. Vishwanathan Jaganmohini film is neither Scary nor entertaining. Even if you are a Namitha fan you may irritate watching movie at the end. Only satisfying think is the music of maestro Ilayaraja. The director had more opportunities to develop this seventies script to suit today’s fashion but lacked effect.
