With regard to special focus on issues of sex and love for its young viewers, the Nickelodeon Network has decided to air a special show. This announcement follows the announcement made by Jamie Spears, 16 aged sister of Britney Spears, that she was pregnant.
Jamie is the star of the Nickelodeon series, Zoey 101. Since there has been no official announcement with regard to the future of Zoey 101, the network is said to be in talks with journalist Linda Ellerbee to host the special show.
You would remember, Ellerbee has hosted similar shows about same-sex parents, AIDS, the Columbine shooting and President Clinton’s impeachment, too, in the past. When our correspondent Uncle Sam, got with Ellerbee, she said that, it’s very important that something has to be done. But she thinks that it’s important that it would be done in a measured way, and not just to feed the beast of news stories.
Nickelodeon spokesman Dan Martinsen reports that, the discussions regarding the special show is on, but no decisions have been yet made, regarding this. He also dismissed the rumours online, that, instead of a news special, the network would be producing a reality series around the pregnancy.
