
It just two days ince the release of the biggest movie of the year 2008, of Ashutosh Gowarekar’s Jodha Akbar. The latest and the shocking news of the evening is that, the movie, though it would take some time, for the film to be premiered in our brother-nation Pakistan, the movie has all set to hit the piracy market by today. The most shocking turning point of the news is that, the pirates of the movie, would be making a huge profit of Rs. 25 crores.
The fresh camera copy of the movie had been smuggled from the cinema halls of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, and have reached the piracy market of Pakistan, for sale. A record six lack copies of the movie, that includes pirated VCDs and DVDs would hit the piracy market today. Karachi-based don Chhota Shakeel’s Sadaf Video, will be distributing the pirated DVDs and VCDs of the film in Pakistan, and is also expected to make profits to the tune of Rs 25 crore from the film.
The movie which scheduled to be for a 3 hour 20 minutes, has been cut-short off by 45 minutes to fit into a single VCD. This pirate VCD and DVD is also set to hit the Indian Piracy Market also, by today. Aslam Siddique Hussein, a key trafficker in Karachi, UAE and Bangladesh, said that , they had to bank on the Indian pirated market this time. Generally they outsource the prints from abroad (UAE and Malaysia), but the crystal clear DVD (overseas) prints will at least take a week or more. They can’t wait.
