There is a great standing all around the country, for the most eagerly awaited movie of the year, 2008, Jodha Akbar. As the jodi of the blockbuster movie, of the Yash Raj Films, Dhoom2, Ash and Hrithik, come once again at the big screens. This has created a great expectations and fans, even before its release scheduled on 15th February.
But seems that there is a new problematic, fan for the Jodha Akbar. The Rajput community leaders, in the town Jaipur have raised a threaten to stall the release of ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ in Rajasthan for alleging distortion of facts. President of Rajput Karni Sena, Lokendra Kalvi has come out with the statement, that the Sena apprehended distortion of Rajasthan’s historical facts in movie, which is based on Jodhpur raj gharana. Karni Sena would watch the movie first, and then move, on with his decision of screening the movie, in Rajasthan or not.
Initially, Rajput Mahasabha had alleged that, the movie had some misappropriation of historical facts. He said that, Jodha was Jehangir’s wife and not Akbar’s. The same misappropraition was made in an earlier movie, Mughal-E-Azam and also now in the movie, Jodha Akbar.
There has also been a new complaintant, from the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, a body registered with the Animal Welfare Board of India, has also issued a letter to the director Gowarikar, for, whether he had asked prior permission, for making use of the animals, in the film. The film made use of 80 elephants, 100 horses, and 55 camels.
This is one movie, which is not only a big budgeted movie, is also in the line of Ahutosh’s race to enter the Oscars and other awards, like his one, Lagaan. Hope the problems is solved amicably and movie, hits the screens, at the scheduled time.
